The description refers to a device for the measurement of magnetic fields (B fields) in the vicinity of a body and in particular to the contact-less measurement of the current flowing in a conductor by measuring the magnetic field associated with the current. The device has a radiation unit, which applies a (primary) beam to the surface area of the body of the conductor in such a way that low-energy charge carriers having a velocity component perpendicular to the B field emerge from the surface area, a detector arrangement, which has at least one detector and which detects the directional distribution of charge carriers emanating from the conductor, and an evaluation unit, which measures the magnetic field from the output signal of the detector arrangement or the current generated by said magnetic field.
