According to the invention, an oxide layer mainly consisting of silicon and/or aluminium oxide, with a coating thickness of less than 2.0 g/m->2 is deposited in a vacuum on the zinc or zinc alloy coating. This type of temporary corrosion-protective steel sheet is mainly used in the construction, plant construction, domestic appliance and automobile industries.
