Verfahren zur gezielten Herstellung organischer Produkte unter Verwendung von Mikroorganismen mit verzweigtem Gaerstoffwechsel

A process is described for the direct production of organic products using microorganisms having branched fermentation metabolism by the biological decomposition of organic substrates by influencing the fermentation in such a way that the more oxidized or more reduced fermentation products in each case are obtained with a yield of over 90% referred to the total volume of the products formed. The process is characterized by the fact that a redox mediator is added to the culture medium, the redox mediator is continuously regenerated by a potential-controlled working electrode, thus controlling the fermentation in the direction of the desired product formation.
