Die Erfindung betrifft ein antimikrobielles Schichtmaterial, umfassend eine Schicht mit einem partikulären bioziden Wirkstoff und darauf angeordnet eine Schicht als Transportkontrollschicht, wobei die Transportkontrollschicht abscheidbar oder abgeschieden ist in einem After-Glow PE-CVD-Verfahren. Die Erfindung betrifft ferner ein Substrat mit einem solchen antimikrobiellen Schichtmaterial beschichtet, die Verwendung einer in einem After-Glow PE-CVD-Verfahren abgeschiedenen plasmapolymeren Schicht als Transportkontrollschicht für einen partikulären bioziden Wirkstoff sowie ein Verfahren zum Herstellen eines antimikrobiellen Schichtmaterials und ein Verfahren zum Herstellen eines Substrates mit einem antimikrobiellen Schichtmaterial.
