Die Erfindung betrifft optische Bauelemente, die als Formteil ausgebildet sind, wobei das Formteil ein Schichtsystem ist. Das Schichtsystems des Formteils nach der Erfindung ist dabei aus mindestens einer Dünnglasfolie aufgebaut, auf deren ersten und/oder zweiten Glasoberfläche eine optische Schicht angeordnet ist. Das Schichtsystem umfasst weiterhin, eine weitere auf der ersten oder zweiten Glasoberfläche und/oder auf der optischen Schicht angeordnete Schicht aus einem Kunststoffmaterial. Die Erfindung betrifft weiterhin ein Verfahren zur Herstellung eines derartigen optischen Bauelements und die Verwendung der optischen Bauelemente zum Beispiel als Spiegel, Linse, Fenster, Strahlteiler und Wellenleiter usw.
