Verfahren und Vorrichtung zur Herstellung eines hohlen Bauteils, insbesondere einer Nockenwelle fuer eine Kolbenhubmaschine, in einem Werkzeug, wobei ein erstes Werkzeugteil als Formstempel ausgebildet ist zum Formen eines Wandabschnitts des Bauteils beim Schliessen des Werkzeugs. Gegenueberliegende weitere Wandabschnitte werden waehrend der plastischen Verformung abgestuetzt. Der Wandabschnitt wird vor einem Innenhochdruckumformen plastisch verformt.

Disclosed are a method and an apparatus for producing a hollow component, in particular a camshaft for a reciprocating piston engine, in a mold in which a first mold part is designed as a die to form a wall section of the component when the mold is closed. Additional, opposite wall sections are supported during the plastic deformation process. The wall section is plastically deformed prior to a hydroforming process.
