DE102012018136A1 Die vorliegende Erfindung betrifft Verfahren zur Detektion struktureller Defekte in einer Probe, die massgeblich auf einer thermischen Anregung der Probe beruhen. Dabei wird die Probe an einer ersten Stelle entweder erhitzt oder abgekuehlt, wobei eine sich lateral ausbreitende thermische Welle entsteht. Zudem erfolgt eine Bestimmung des Temperaturunterschiedes und/oder der thermischen Verteilung der Probe an anderer Stelle, woraus auf das Vorhandensein des Vorliegens eines strukturellen Effektes geschlossen werden kann.
