Method and apparatus for zone adaptation in a network

The present disclosure relates to a method and a network node (700) for zone adaptation in a network. The network node (700) is configured to enhance an information element associated with configuration of zones by including at least a third dimension in addition to the two other dimensions, and to adapt the zone based on at least the speed of vehicles and the topology of highways, and to further adapt the length, width and height of a zone. The network node (700) may also configure zones for unicast, groupcast and broadcast communications, and to adapt the zones to fulfil QoS requirements.
