The method involves bringing a measuring point of a pressure sensor into fluidized powder (3) in a fluidizing device such that a pressure is measured with the pressure sensor at the measuring point. The pressure of the fluidized powder is measured at the measuring point. The characteristic of the fluidized powder is determined from the measured pressure. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a method for powder coating; and (2) a device for powder coating.
