Abstract
Welding process comprising several high-energy welding beams, in particular laser beams, where the laser beams (10, 11) impinge on the welding area (12) simultaneously. In order to attain a rapid welding operation and improve the seam quality, the welding beams (10, 11) impinge during welding on two opposing workpiece external surfaces (13, 14) and the workpiece thickness (d) of the welding area (12) is partly melted in each case.
