Abstract
DE 19853971 A UPAB: 20000718 NOVELTY - Hybrid inorganic/organic polysiloxane polymers, obtained by hydrolytic condensation of methacryloxypropyl- or glycidyloxypropyl- trialkoxy-silane with tetra-alkoxy-silane or aminopropyl-trialkoxy-silane with the addition of zeolite, optionally in presence of a condensation catalyst. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - Hybrid inorganic/organic polysiloxane polymers, obtained by the hydrolytic condensation, optionally in presence of a condensation catalyst, of 20-95 mol% compounds of formula (R1O)3SiR2 (I) with 5-80 mol% compounds of formula (R1O)3SiX (II) with the addition of 5-120 wt.% zeolite (based on I and II). In these compounds, R1 = 1-4C alkyl; R2 = -(CH2)3-O-CO-C(CH3)=CH2 or -(CH2)3-O-glycidyl; X = OR1 or -(CH2)3-NH2 USE - For the production of films or thin layers which are used (a) for the production of membranes for separation processes such as pervaporation or solvent, alcohol and water separation, (b) for the production of sensors, (c) as absorber layers, e.g. for solvent or (d) for the production of NLO (non-linear optical) layers (claimed). ADVANTAGE - Zeolite-containing polymers with optimum, permanent bonding between zeolite and matrix, good adhesion to substrates and controllable porosity, which can be obtained at lower temperatures than prior-art zeolite-containing polymers.
