Elektro-optischer Modulator und Verfahren zum Herstellen eines elektro-optischen Modulators

Die Erfindung betrifft einen elektro-optischer Modulator mit mindestens einem optischen Wellenleiter (11, 12); einer Mehrzahl von Segmenten (A-E), wobei jedes Segment (A-E) jeweils mindestens eine Wellenleiterelektrode (111a-111e, 121a-121e) zum Anlegen einer Spannung an den optischen Wellenleiter (11, 12) aufweist, und wobei jedes Segment (A-E) eine eigene Treibereinheit (2a-2e) umfasst, die mit der Wellenleiterelektrode (111a-111e, 121a-121e) des Segmentes (A-E) zum Zuführen eines elektrischen Signals elektrisch verbunden ist. Erfindungsgemäss bildet jedes Segment (A-E) einen elektrischen Schwingkreis aus, wobei die Segmente (A-E) so gestaltet sind, dass die Resonanzfrequenz - fER ) des Schwingkreises zumindest eines der Segmente (A-E) innerhalb des Frequenzbereiches eines den Treibereinheiten (2a-2e) zugeführten elektrischen Signals liegt.; Die Erfindung betrifft auch ein Verfahren zum Herstellen eines derartigen Modulators.
