According to the invention, the gas-selective modulation element within the frame area of a photoelectric camera is coupled to a photoelectric picture taking sensor having a spatial resolution in the optical spectral region and is connected downstream to an image processing unit and an image reproduction unit. The invention can be applied for the monitoring and recording of gas emissions.
