The invention relates to a process for the production of cellulose fibres by spinning a spinning solution, containing cellulose dissolved in amine oxides in more or less known concentrations, through spinning nozzles over an air gap in a spinning bath, whereby the spinning solution is guided through at least two spinning baths in succession after exiting from the spinning nozzle, whereby the spinning baths are selected in such a way that the coagulation of the cellulose in the first bath is at least slower than that in the final bath.
