Abstract
The invention relates to a method for the surface treatment of coatings of hard carbon that are formed on substrates. In the method according to the invention, a mechanical surface treatment is carried out in such a way that, during the surface treatment, a liquid organic carbon compound containing no additional abrasively acting particles is present in the region of influence of the mechanical contact(s) in the surface treatment and the surface of the coating of hard carbon, or is fed into the region of influence.
