The arrangement has a fuel cell with an electrolyte-matrix between an anode and a cathode. An edge support (14d) is provided within an edge case (14) and supported between brackets (14a, 14b) extending parallel to a bipolar plate (16). The support consists of a nickel foam material, which causes a volume increase in terms of expansion of a U-shaped edge case in a longitudinal direction of a fuel cell stack during acceleration of the arrangement. A half cell electrode has a central section (11c) that is formed from stainless steel and forms an accumulator for an electrolyte material.
