Abstract
The invention relates to a process for the coating of polycarbonate shaped parts, characterized by the fact that a mass (b) obtained by the hydrolytic polycondensation of an aluminium compound of an organofunctional silane and an oxide component is applied with a thickness of 2 to 200 <my>m on the surface of a shaped element made of a polycarbonate on the basis of a diphenol of the formula (1a) Formula 1 where R->1 and T->2 are independent of each other hydrogen, halogen, preferred chorine or bromine, C<-1 -C<-8 alkyl, C<-5 -C<-6 cycloalkyl, C<-6 -C<-10 aryl, preferred phenyl, and C<-7 -C<-12 aralkyl, preferred phenyl C<-1 -C<-4 alkyl, in particular benzyl, m 4 or 5, R->3 and R->4 for every X individually selectable, independent hydrogen or C<-1 -C<-6 alkyl and X carbon with the provision that R->3 and R->4 mean alkyl simultaneously at least at one atom X, said mass and the thus obtained scratch-proof equipped polycarbonate shaped element being hardened at a temperature from 135 degree s C to 180 degrees C.
