The description refers to a process for the detection of errors occurring in the transmission of frequency-encoded digital signals and, in particular, audio signals which are transmitted in blocks from a transmitter to a receiver. The invention is characterized by an error function which is generated from the frequency coefficients of past and, if necessary, future blocks by means of which the occurrence of an error is determined; the errored frequency coefficient is then no longer used to access the following blocks.
