The subject of the invention is the measurement of the torque of combustion engines, calculation of the gas torque, measurement of cylinder-specific work, torque and power components and determination of combustion characteristics, in particular for the control of the engine or individual cylinders. This is achieved by a more precise determination of the characteristics and the measurement of the effective torque calculated from the family of characteristic curves, said torque being decisive for the measurement of further cylinder-specific data.
