Title
Mikrobiologisches Verfahren zur Beseitigung von halogenierten Ethenen
Other Title
Microbiological decomposition of halogenated ethylene(s) - in aerobic bio-reactor with pre-adapted strain of bacteria using ethylene as carbon and energy source.
Abstract
Process for microbiological purification of halogenated ethylenes, comprises contacting the halogenated ethylenes to be treated in an aerobic bioreactor with a strain of bacteria which decomposes halogenated ethylenes and which has been adapted to growth and provision of energy using ethylene as carbon- and energy source. USE - The process is used in the purification of water and/or air containing cis-1,2-dichloroethylene and/or vinyl chloride, particularly where the contaminated material to be treated is ground water or air. ADVANTAGE - The process is simple and economical to operate, allows complete decomposition of halogenated ethylenes, and is effective in purifying water or air containing high concentrations of cis-1,2-dichloroethylene or vinyl chloride up to 100 mg/l.
