WO2003009432 A UPAB: 20030317 NOVELTY - A carrier substrate (1) has a structured thin-layer metallized coating for shaping an optical radiation beam. This coating has metallic layers (2,3) that react with each other and change color permanently when affected by optical radiation above a specific intensity or after specific irradiation periods. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - An INDEPENDENT CLAIM is also included for a method for producing a beam-shaping device for optical radiation. USE - For UV laser radiation in processing materials or medical techniques. ADVANTAGE - Optically visible signs of usage remain after impingement so that inadvertent repeated usage can be avoided.
