The chamber has openings through which microwaves can enter the chamber. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - Preferred Features: The chamber has a first plate and a second plate running parallel to each other. The plates are partially permeable to UV light and vacuum-UV light. The plates are made from quartz or other material permeable for to UV light and vacuum-UV light. The chamber is impermeable to microwaves. USE - For disinfecting drinking water, effluent, waste gases and plastic packaging films and in oxidation processes, UV polymerization reactions, hardening processes and biochemical processes. ADVANTAGE - The device has a simple structure producing a flat homogeneous emission of UV light.
