The invention relates to a process for the production of a coating system consisting of an adhesive layer and an organic coating, such as paint or adhesive, on a substrate, whereby a) the adhesive coating is produced by means of a barrier discharge at a pressure of 0.1 to 1.5 bar and b) the organic coating is applied to the substrate coated in this way.
