The present disclosure describes a medical system (600) for supporting native kidney function of a patient's kidney, which comprises a fluid source (602) for providing fluid to be injected into the patient's kidney, a fluid outlet (616) in fluid connection with the fluid source for transferring the fluid (608) to a renal cortex of the patient's kidney, and a control unit (620) that receives physiological condition information (622) indicative of a physiological condition of the patient and that is configured to control a flow through the fluid outlet (616) using the physiological condition information (622).
