Elektrochemische Redoxzelle

A redox cell (1) of the iron-chromium type having a cathode chamber (3) which is separated from an anode chamber (2) by a perm-selective ion-exchange membrane (4), contains in the cathode chamber (3) a cathode (14) immersed in a cathode liquid (19) and in the anode chamber (2) an anode immersed in an anode liquid (5). Thallium is used as catalyst for the electro-catalytic acceleration of the redox processes for the chromium III/II reaction at the anode (16) said thallium being separated from a thallium chloride solution while the redox cell (1) is being charged and being deposited on the anode (16).
