EP 9461 A UPAB: 19940205 The incoming and outgoing data lines (7, 8) are connected via an h.f. circuit (1) to incoming and outgoing databuses (5, 6) inside the subscriber unit. The incoming databus (5) is connected to a monitor (2) that detects vacant time slots and decides whether the subscriber station is being called by comparing the station's stored call number with the address incoming via the incoming databus. The incoming and outgoing databuses are connected to a series of structurally identical, but functionally different, pairs of units. Each pair consists of a connection controller (3) and a format converter (4). Each pair serves one functional device connected via an interface (decoder/coder or decoder etc.e to its format converter.
