An ontology as description for a standardized data exchange interface between MES and machine was developed there in cooperation with industry and research. Content of this ontology is presented in this contribution. The goal is a horizontal integration of MES [1]. For evaluation of the defined contents and descriptions, the interface can be mapped to existing data exchange interfaces.
