By employing state-of-the-art Python tools, high-resolution geospatial data, and advanced time-series analyses, the study addresses the challenges of aligning regional gridplanning with Germany’s climate neutrality targets for 2045. The methodology not only identifies localized grid expan-sion needs but also critically examines the feasibility of achieving ambitious political objectives under constrained re-sources. Fraunhofer IEE developed the Regional Scenario for the Eastern Planning Region and carried out the grid ex-pansion planning for the German DSO E.DIS Netz GmbH.enRegional ScenarioScenario DevelopmentGrid Expansion PlanningpandopowerautomationScenario Development and Grid Expansion Planning: An Innovative Approach for Addressing the New German EnWG 14d Requirementsconference paper
