A camera is used to capture the real environment. Interactive 3D objects can be used to augment the video. This mixed realities can be used to guide a tourist using a virtual avatar. In addition, 3D models of important features can be placed in the video allowing the user to interact with these objects. From technical point of view, we use MPEG4-BIFS to transmit 3D features and merge them with the video stream. Our contribution in this paper focuses on 3D compression and synchronization of video. An improved 3D compression algorithm will be presented reducing the data volume by 95 per cent compared to an uncompressed representation.encompression3D mapVRMLMPEG4-BIFS006Compressed mixed reality maps for LBS using MPEG4-BIFSconference paper
