The intersection of feed-in information concerning biogas plant locations in Germany and biogas potentials with feed-in potentials at the gas distribution level allows an assessment of minimal and maximal potential for small-scale biogas upgrading units. Regarding the economic analysis the production costs for upgrading biogas to biomethane were determined based on a survey of manufacturers of upgrading technologies.
