With low latency and high reliability being the order of the day for vehicular systems, this paper addresses the resource allocation issues associated with the existing 3GPP LTE Rel. 14 V2X specification. These issues will inevitably impact various V2X services ranging from safety critical to multimedia services. An enhanced reporting mechanism is proposed to alleviate the burden of number of resource collisions for V2X users. The simulation results reveal that the enhanced reporting mechanism to aid the base station in resource allocation, reduces the number of collisions by 50%, when the system operates with 25% of all UEs performing one shot transmissions.en621Towards Advanced V2X Multimedia Services for 5G Networksconference paper
