Because of different content of 13 various amino acids in casein and egg yolk it was possible to differ between casein and egg yolk for freshly prepared paintings. Casein-based paintings contain about 25 weight-% glutaminacid, egg yolk-based paintings also contain about the double weight-% serin. The same analysis with weathered paintings was not successful. The proteins were also analysed by capillary electrophoresis. With this method it was not possible to differ between casein and egg yolk-based paintings.deamino acidAminosäurecapillary electrophoreses (CE)caseinegg yolkEidotterhigh performance liquid chromatography (HPLC)Hochleistungsflüssigkeitschromatographie (HPLC)Kapillarelektrophorese (CE)proteinproteinhaltige Bindemittelproteinous binder in painting674Analytik von proteinhaltigen Bindemitteln in historischen Anstrichstoffenbook article
