The paper suggests an efficient processing element for pipelined realizations of three-dimensional transformations occuring in computer graphics and robotics. Modified floating-point arithmetic is used to avoid convergence problems and to guarantee high accuracy and an enlarged data range with only a moderate overhead of hardware cost.
