The noise level, initially dominated by engine and flow noise, was further reduced and optimized over the years. This has the consequence that other, previously insignificant components, come acoustically to the fore. Their damping and attenuation plays an important role in the modern automotive industry. Many aspects of the interaction between tire and road surface is already examined in this context. Rolling noise is transmitted both by structure-borne sound and airborne noise inside the cabin. A new aspect, which is focused in the present case, is the question which impact is resulting from the functional community of tire and rim and the cavity enclosed in it.en690Microperforated absorber to reduce the tire cavity modeconference paper
