For the machining of advanced materials with high hardness and brittleness, tools combining cutting and abrasive machining with high wear-resistance were developed and investigated. Focusing on honing and grinding, the development of application-adapted tools, their coating characteristics, cutting behavior and their improvements of performance are presented.
