A good 1:1 correlation has been found between the release rate of acoustic events measured as acoustic energy and the crack speed. A transition in the amplitude of the acoustic events with increasing crack speed can be correlated to a change in the dominant damage mechanism.en531620Acoustic emission during slow crack growth in fiber reinforced polyvinylchlorideconference paper
