Because of various parameters influencing the hardening process nondestructive testing techniques are required for monitoring of machining quality. Micromagnetic techniques developed during the last few years have been found to be applicable to nondestructive evaluation of quality parameters of laser hardened surfaces. Hardness, hardening depth and residual stresses can be determined based on micromagnetic multiparameter approach.
