Since the beginning of the 1990s, Fraunhofer IVV has used these tools in multiple ways, in order to find answers to environmental questions, and in the context of environmental management. In the meantime, system cost analyses are increasingly integrated in these studies, in order to link ecological and economic aspects. Energy and material flow analyses may be used in multiple contexts and different scopes: products and product life cycles, processes, economic sectors, production sites. Three case studies are described representing suitable contexts to conduct energy and material flow analyses.deAbfallwirtschaftBetriebsstättenbilanzeco-auditEnergie- und Stoffflußanalyseenergy and material flow analysisLCAlife cycle analysisÖko-AuditÖkobilanzproduction site analysissystem costSystemkostenwaste management plans664688Energie- und Stoffflußanalyse - ein Werkzeug des Umweltmanagements - ausgewählte FallbeispieleEnergy and material flow analysis - a suitable tool for environmental management - selected case studiesconference paper
