It gives, first, an overview on the types of micro-assemblies and specific challenges to be met, which leads to the introduction to the self-assembly. Before the process is introduced, the theory and principle of self-assembly are explained. The process and corresponding techniques are described in detail focusing on (1) singularization and arrangement of micro-parts and (2) gripping and positioning of micro-parts.
