Its aims are to gain a deeperunderstanding of the EU bioeconomy innovation eco-system and to derive recommendations on which measures should be taken, by EU, Member States, and others to strengthen bioeconomy innovation systems. In this deliverable, three in-depth analyses of bioeconomy policy and governance with nine case studies in six EU member states were conducted: Bioeconomy policy coordination on national level with case studies in Germany, Italy and Estonia Strategies to overcome policy and governance challenges in emerging bioeconomy sectors – The example of mainstreaming sustainable aquaculture to increase blue biomass, with case studies in Germany, Ireland and Denmark, and Fostering regional bioeconomy across the EU, with case studies in Bavaria (Germany), Southern Region (Ireland) and Southern Macedonia (Greece).
