When using such a device, depth information on salient objects can easily be recovered by shifting the distance of a virtual focal plane relative to the synthetic camera while maximizing contrast. To support the process we propose a spatial attention scheme. The scheme allows distributed software modules to search for an acceptable depth estimate by iterating over possible interpretations of previously acquired images by implementing an anytime-algorithm.en670On spatial attention in object tracking using a synthetic aperture camera arrayconference paper
