Braun, P.P.BraunBollin, ElmarElmarBollin2022-03-082022-03-081988https://publica.fraunhofer.de/handle/publica/314850In the Federal Republic of Germany, around 27% of the processed final energy is consumed in private households; more than 90% of this is used for room heating and domestic hot water systems. This consumer sector represents a large potential for energy saving on a long-term basis. The federal government is supporting the realisation of this potential with direct measures. To this purpose, the aims of a rational and thrifty use of energy were formulated: reduction of the demand for processed final energy without forfeiting quality of living; satisfaction of the remaining demand with an energy conversion and heating distribution system characterised by the lowest possible costs and emission values.
