However, there is a tradeoff in using lightweight methods. Often they lack in providing a process model (i.e., a sound description of roles, artifacts and activities), which allows easy adaptation for different organizations, as well as systematic guidance for developers. This paper describes a project, performed at Fraunhofer IESE, which addresses this problem by providing a systematically defined and easily adaptable process model for XP.
