Titel

EM scattering effects caused by wind turbines

Abstract
This paper presents an overview of various scattering effects that can be caused by wind turbines. Depending on aspects such as number and size of the wind turbines, distance to radar systems, and type of the radar system under consideration, there might be an impact on the operation of the radar system. Simulations presented in this paper focus on the bistatic scattering of wind turbines and the distribution of field strength behind wind turbines depending on height above ground, and are also supported by measured data. However, the propagation scenario involved in such considerations is extremely complex, which imposes great challenges in interference studies of wind turbines, both in simulations as well as in measurements.
