Titel
Abstract

Due to the global increase of CO2 emissions, the European Union (EU) is striving for a guideline to determine CO2 emissions caused by heavy duty commercial vehi-cles (HDV). Studies assigned to develop this guideline are following an approach based on measurement data and simulations. In this context, the HDV simulation tool VECTO is being developed. Particularly in buses, a significant component of energy consumption is the air conditioning system (HVAC System), which has not yet been sufficiently covered by VECTO. Fraunhofer IVI is developing a simulation tool under the title of HVACCO2SIM, which determines the energy demand of different air conditioning systems in combination with various bus models. The following article introduces the development status of the HVAC simulation tool, beginning with the interface definition between HVACCO2SIM and VECTO. Subsequently, the simulation concept including the boundary conditions will be described in detail. In the next step, the realization within a spreadsheet program and its validation will be discussed. The article concludes by giving an overview on other possible applications as well as an outlook regarding further work.
