Challenges for the metall cutting industryversus shortage of ressources

Studies of the application, material and component trends in key industries have led to challenges being identified in machining processes. Process and machine-orientated approaches are emerging from the product manufacturing and utilisation phase that illustrate the many and diverse possibilities for overcoming the increasing demands as far as machining operations are concerned. The ongoing trend towards more economical manufacturing in combination with better surface integrity, energy saving and resource efficiency is presented with few practical examples from the metal cutting industry.
