Titel

NMR measurements of consumer recording devices which use low bit-rate audio coding

Abstract
Recently several systems were introduced into the consumer market which benefit from low bit-rate coding technology. Traditional measurements should not be used to assess the performance of these devices. Measurements on a number of systems have been performed using the well-known Noise-to-Mask-Ratio measurement technique. The results of this perceptual measurement will be presented and several aspects of coding performance will be discussed.
