The object to be supported stands on a shoe which is movable in a guide channel. An operating device has a drawing-out unit for gripping and sliding the shoe in and out. The shoe has a retaining face formed as prongs, and through its gaps pass the prongs of a lifting device so that the object can be raised and set down. In the upper and lower end positions the lifting device allows a sliding in and sliding out of the shoe. USE - Framework may be used for support and transportation of glass panels. ADVANTAGE - Support is very compact and provides safe mounting for large flat sheet of glass.
