The chair has support elements (1, 2) adjustable in length, whereby the support elements facing the front and/or the rear and connected to the seat (4) or the backrest (5) are inclined in relation to the vertical axis. Moreover, the seat (4) and the backrest (5) are connected by means of a connection element (6) in such a way that the horizontal and/or vertical distance of the joint point (7, 8) of the connection element (6) can be changed forcibly as a factor of the height of the seat (4) adjusted by changing the length of the support elements (1, 2).
