Contents and relationships of QUASAR requirements documents
In QUASAR, a structure of requirements documents was proposed that allows the different stakeholders in the requirements process to perform their activities more effectively and efficiently. The structure defines four requirements documents called system requirements, system specification, software requirements, and software specification document. All four documents include information for different types of stakeholders. [KvKP02] describes a first structure for the different documents. This report points out in more detail what information should be described in what section. In addition, it determines relationships within and between requirements documents that have to be there. This reports provides templates and constraints that should be used by the requirements engineers who have to develop the requirements documents. Using the templates and constraints should increase the quality of the resulting requirements documents. The templates and constraints support the requirements engineers in considering important information and avoiding incompleteness. Relationships documented according to the constraints support the requirements engineers in analyzing the impact of change requests. This report gives examples for requirements documents that were developed according to the templates and constraints suggested.
